British Beef Print by Paul Bommer

I'm currently captivated by this "British Beef...For Strength" print by  Paul Bommer. It's a little Guinness advertisement-y and a lot vintage-y with John Bull standing in front of his prize steer, yet also totally modern. I can hear strains of "in England's green and pleasant land" in my head as I look at the lovely little details in the background of a cozy country church, a little cottage, and haystacks in a field. This would be a great accent for a kitchen or breakfast nook, don't you think?

Vintage British Travel Posters

It's so close to spring here - we've hardly had a winter this year. It was almost 60 degrees today here in Boston! I'm yearning for bright spring colors and warm breezes, and these vintage British travel posters depict both those enticing elements.

Wouldn't it be lovely to be boating on a river nearby right now, picking wildflowers by the water's edge?

Tea Towels and Aprons from JiltyDrawings

I miss living in London every day, so these playful and fun tea towels and aprons from Jilty Drawings would definitely make me feel like I was back in the UK!

They're based on popular British cakes and "biscuits" (that's cookies, if you're American), as well as English nursery rhymes. Have you ever heard, "Oranges and lemons ring the bells of St. Clemen's"? The end of the rhyme is a bit, well, gruesome to say the least but the other stanzas charmingly describe the different sounds of the church bells around London.

Prints from Bodie and Foo

I will never get tired of looking at (and often lusting over, let's be honest) anything British, including these prints from Bodie and Fou.

I love the loops of the antique penmanship-inspired hearts in the "Endless Love" print, the playful take on the Union Jack in the "Quintessentially" piece, and the clever (and informative!) design of the "British Isles Type Map".
