Amazing Night Photography by Scott Lanphere

This photo of Big Ben was my background for months last year, and now Scott Lanphere has even more incredible night shots to choose from in his gallery!

It's amazing how well he captures the lights glowing in the dark velvety night. The contrast of shadow and streetlights (or moonshine, as in the top photo) really draws you in and makes you notice every little detail. I also really love the blur that the fog creates in the London photo!

Fourth of July Fireworks

With temperatures in the 90's and a recent, still painful injury, I decided braving the crowds and going to Boston's Fourth of July fireworks was just not in the cards this year.

Luckily, I found these photos on my computer of the festivities last July. I hope all of you in the U.S. had a wonderful holiday!

My New Favorite Norwegian Photo

Actually, it's the only Norwegian photo I've seen so far. Still, my attention was immediately grabbed when I found this amazing shot by Artystew.

The hazy, muted colors and textures make this look like an oil painting - I couldn't believe it was a photo instead! This would look wonderful hanging over a sofa in a living room or above a headboard in a bedroom.

Moon Lover

The moon has been beautifully, eerily bright and full this week. I wish I'd thought of such a clever way to capture it as this "Moon Lover" idea by Laurent Laveder!
