Hang Your Heart Up

Today I came across this lovely little wooden ornament you put together yourself by Lovi, via Thoughtful Day.

It's been grey and rainy for the past three days, so this deep red heart definitely brightened my weekend!

Autumn Baking

When crisp autumnal days arrive, I always start dreaming of cakes featuring apples and pears. I can't wait to try out these two delicious-looking treats!

First is "Apple Cake in an Iron Skillet" from The Pioneer Woman. It's a simple, cinnamon-tinged, upside-down cake with a caramelized top. Next is "Tarte Belle-Helene" from Croque-Camille. She used a whole wheat crust, and substituted hazelnuts for almonds. It's almost too lovely to eat (but I would dig in anyways)!

Palette Inspiration

I used this lovely photograph of strawberry and vanilla bean macarons from the baking and food blog Cannelle et Vanille as inspiration for a palette. Feel free to use these hues in your creations - I hope they inspire you as well!
