Early Summer Glow

I spent an early summer afternoon wandering around this old estate, the Stevens-Coolidge Estate, admiring the formal gardens and wilder roaming lawns. This one was dotted with thousands of buttercups. It was like a second sunshine, glowing up from the ground.

Someone Said There'd Be Peanuts...

While away, we took a little jaunt to a nearby zoo and spotted this fellow looking for treats with his agile trunk.

Animals can be so incredibly strange and wondrous sometimes, don't you think?

A Sad Sparrow's Tale

Now that the wedding's over (still can't believe it actually happened - still very surreal!) and I've settled into the new digs, I'll be posting pics of what I've been up to in the meantime.

I found these beautiful speckled eggs when I was moving post-wedding. They sadly will never hatch. Switch over to my Flickr page for the full tale!

The Past Couple Weeks

The past couple weeks have been composed of:

*putting up the tree (despite me being allergic to them...I still insist on a real one)

*disastrous holiday baking attempts (I think my new measuring cups aren't standardized - oh no!)

*romps with the pup through the 17" of snow we got from a Boxing Day blizzard

*a trip to the New England Aquarium (which is where the above photo of Leidys Comb jellyfish was taken)

*classic - and amazing - cocktails at Eastern Standard, my favorite restaurant in Boston

*taking down the tree

*making New Year's Resolutions, both for myself and for my shop/business

What have you been up to?

Autumn's Fire

I took this photo today of a maple tree's leaves turning lovely shades of gold, orange, and scarlet. Autumn foliage is always so beautiful!
