Blog Under Construction and a Shop Update

So you might have noticed that this blog has a new name. Heritage Current Co. is the new name (well, old, but renamed) of my Etsy shop, so I've changed my blog's to coordinate.

I'll still be posting, you just are going to see the header probably change again to fancy it up a bit, blog colors change, some other layout changes, as well as new images for my Twitter, etc.!

Also, HeritageCurrentCo. now has printables! Get your prints asap by downloading them and printing them yourself, or taking them to a local shop. You can print them on any variety of paper, or have them printed on canvas, metal, or bamboo!

Shop Update

I've added new nautical- and ocean-themed prints to my shop, 3LambsIllustration! They're available in a variety of colors, and are great for mixing-and-matching to update your home decor for summer. I made them from vintage images that I carefully cleaned up and then colored in bright cherry red, aqua, navy blue, and tangerine (not shown). So far, I've added starfish, lobster, seahorse, crab, coral branch, and fish illustrations!

I'll also be adding new Audrey Hepburn prints and summer-themed pieces over the next week or so. I hope you like them!

New Prints in the Shop, 3LambsIllustration

I've been trying to get ideas out of my head and onto paper lately, and these two new prints in the shop came from that. I think Valentine's Day probably influenced the red and white color schemes! This "Love You" print with hearts instead of o's has a watercolor-textured background and script/calligraphic-style lettering.

This piece features a heart with the word "yours" written over and over on it. So, naturally, it's called "This Heart is Yours". I like the idea that you can symbolically give someone your "heart" by giving them this print!

Brand-New Calendars in the Shop

I hope you guys all have wonderful plans for Thanksgiving! The husband and I are spending it together, just the two of us. We've been prepping for it all night!

I just wanted to drop a quick note and let you know that I have these brand-new one-page 2013 calendars up in the shop. They feature vintage details like flourishes and a chalkboard look but with modern style. I'm really excited about them - this is the first time I've offered calendars!

The one above features a vintage penmanship bird, made of whimsical calligraphic flourishes and curves. It has a chalkboard-type background that gives it a bit of an one-room Victorian schoolhouse look, but the fonts are modern script and serif versions.
The quote on the banner on this one reads, "And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been." It's a Rainer Maria Rilke quote that I've always loved - it just perfectly sums up all the hope and promise and dreams you feel when a new year begins! It has vintage-style flourishes framing "2013" as well.

Here's a white version, in case that goes with your decor better. I hope you guys like the new pieces!

I will be running special deals from tomorrow through Tuesday, so check the shop if you've been waiting for a sale in the store.

Happy Thanksgiving, hope you have a wonderful day however you choose to spend it!

Fall and Thanksgiving Tidbits

I thought I'd show you some fall and seasonal things I've been pinning on my Pinterest page! Just click on the pins to go to the page. First up is a brand-new print from my store - "Two Wise Old Owls"! It's listed in red, but I can also custom color it. You can find it and other brand-new prints here.

Next is this lovely brown paper table runner from Pottery Barn Kids. It looks perfect for keeping little ones occupied while Thanksgiving dinner is being made! You could even have them color or paint it in the morning and then use it for the Thanksgiving table later. That way, they'll feel like they've contributed to the meal and holiday as well!

These free printable veggie prints from Just Something I Made would make great Thanksgiving invites or place cards. You could leave them black and white or overlay them with vibrant colors. They'd make a great, fresh addition to the table.

Last is this paper tutorial from Better Homes and Gardens. While they turned these into flowers, I think they'd make great Tom Turkey tails instead. Then you could just add a big pom pom for the body, a smaller one for the head, a red yarn or felt wattle, and either googly eyes or painted-on ones. You could then scatter them down the middle of the table, or put one at every table setting. Simple and seasonal!

Please follow me on Pinterest if you like what you see : ) . I post lots of DIY ideas and I always love to see what my readers are pinning as well!

Getaway

Over the long weekend, we recharged our batteries here. There's something about a dock - it's just the perfect spot for putting everything into perspective, allowing you to make decisions about your life because things just seem that much less stressful with this peaceful view.

Running a business can be so overwhelming at times - all the different roles weighing down on your shoulders, never knowing if your next move is the exact right one, wondering if it's worth all the long hours or if you should just move on. That's not the part you hear about so much. People think if you work for yourself, it's a cakewalk. I wish!

I'm contemplating a lot of things lately. I'm planning my next move. I'm not sure what's around the bend just yet.

New Prints in the Store!

I've added lots of new prints to the shop - 3LambsIllustration (formerly 3LambsGraphics) - over the past couple of months. Here are 4 of my favorites: "Wanderlust" - inspired by the constant case of wanderlust I have and antique maps, "Paris is Always a Good Idea" - a lovely Audrey Hepburn quote that pairs perfectly with my "I Believe in Pink" and "The Best Thing to Hold Onto" prints, "Little Girl with a Wild Bird" - a print inspired by the charming personalities of little girls and the awe of nature, and "She Wasn't Boring" - a sassy Zelda Fitzgerald quote.

If you're not familiar with the latter, she was married to F. Scott Fitzgerald and was full of what they call "gumption"! She was also a good writer herself. I highly recommend her novel "Save Me the Waltz"!

See more prints from my store here.

Blog Name Change!

Just a quick note to say that I've changed my blog name. 3LambsStudio has become Flourish & Wink to better describe my design aesthetic. I try to add those little extra details that give designs just that extra something to my work, and of course I always try to include a healthy dash of sass and wit to make them memorable and fun!

My Etsy store has also changed its name. 3LambsGraphics is now 3LambsIllustration - again, just more descriptive of what I actually do!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. It's supposed to warm up here, so if I'm lucky there might be some grilling and crocus-watching strolls in my future!
